white sapphire and recycled silver ring set by peacesofindigo on etsy

A thing of beauty is a joy forever: Its loveliness increases; it will never pass into nothingness; but still will keep a bower quiet for us, and a sleep full of sweet dreams, and health, and quiet breathing...  ~John Keats

~ A Few of My Favorite Things ~

blue and coral fabric potholders by xxxRedStitcHxxx on etsy
Spring has sprung!!! It makes me daydream of flowers and sunshine and gardens and walks in the park and blue skies. These sweet little potholders just exude Spring. Wouldn't they add a little sunshine to your kitchen?

This close up of an insanely beautiful coral ranunculus blossom makes me swoon. I think it would be gorgeous hanging above a bed with white linens. I just love the detail that she captured. Confession: I have a serious crush on this photograph...

My sweet friend Stephanie gifted one of this artist's tops to me for Christmas and it. is. fabulous. As a jeans and tshirt kind of gal, her pieces are right up my alley. Add my favorite jeans and cowboy boots or flip flops and I'm set for the next 6 months!

Happy Wednesday~

happy anniversary, love!

Every second is of infinite value. ~Goethe

In 4th grade art class, I was introduced to calligraphy. The teacher chose a Goethe quote and handed us a sheet of nice paper, a fancy pen and ink well and I think at that very moment, I was smitten with words. Goethe reminds me that time ticks on whether we are prepared for it or not, and every second that passes is either used with intent or gone forever. We choose to waste or embrace and enjoy every. single. moment.

grey knit legwarmers with buttons by homelab on etsy
Grey. I love, love, love the color. It's always been one of my favorites. As much as I work with silver, I never tire of this cool and versatile hue. These legwarmers are fabulous!

~ Beautiful ~

Loose braids, gorgeous red hair
The pinterest bug bit me long ago, remember the days when you had to be invited? It seemed so much easier to find amazing things back then. Today it's a little harder to find the amazing among the average, but there are still SO many great tips, how to's, photographs, etc. I'm going to post a few things here on my blog, just because they make me smile. And keep me daydreaming.

~ Gratitude ~

2013 has been a whirlwind. A beautiful, magical, dream come true kind of whirlwind. Designing, creating, and all of the behind the scenes work that goes into running Peaces of Indigo can leave me feeling drained. 12+ hour days, often 7 days a week, it's hard to maintain that kind of energy and focus. But this work is my passion; I NEED to create. Your outpouring of support and interest in my art leaves me speechless...
recycled silver paisley wedding band set by peacesofindigo
Photographing new pieces and keeping up with social media has taken a back seat to the orders that are flowing in. Something has to give, and I have to save something of myself for my family. It's too easy for the days to just flow by and time to slip away, and I can't let that happen with these sweet boys that I cherish so much. And my amazing husband who is always there, helping me to keep everything running smoothly and knowing what I need before I even think to ask for it. I truly couldn't do this without him.
My guys
Your sweet words, the beautiful stories that you share with me, the happiness that comes through in your emails and photos; they mean SO much. You fill my heart with gratitude and reaffirm that this work is what I was meant to do. Creating your wedding rings, creating the ring that will be given along with the words 'Will you marry me?', helping you surprise your loved one on their 18th birthday or your 50th anniversary, being a part of these priceless milestones in your life, it leaves me feeling so blessed.

When the Sun finally decides to show his face again, I'll be back, updating my facebook page and twitter account with photographs of new designs and things that are happening behind the scenes. For now, I just need to brew another cup of tea and work on your orders. And I wouldn't want to be anywhere else.  :)
